1. Shelby Cobra 427 Super Snake (1966)

Shelby only ever built two Super Snakes, one of which was sold to Bill Cosby. The comedian drove the car once, scared the life out of himself, and sold it. The next owner tossed himself and the car off a cliff and into the Pacific ocean, which leaves this machine. It underwent a good refreshing not too long ago. Workers discovered that the car still wears its original block, headers, and rear end with oil cooler and pump. It's about as period original as they come, and now it has a new home.

There is only one genuine, original 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 Super Snake left in the world, and it just sold for $5.1 million. Ron Pratte put the car up for auction at the Barrett-Jackson event in Scottsdale after owning it for about seven years. The Super Snake started life as one of 23 427 competition roadsters, but was converted to a semi-competition model in '67.
